These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your attendance at the Woodstock Wine Festival ("the Festival"), your purchase of Festival tickets, and your purchase of wine and other goods at the Festival. By entering the venue, buying a ticket, or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms.
 
1. Who we are
 
The Festival is produced by Makers Company Creative (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2015/071475/07 trading as Cape Town Wine Club ("CTWC", "we", "us").

2. The Festival
 
2.1 The Festival takes place on Saturday 14 November 2026 at Woodstock Exchange, 66 Albert Road, Woodstock, Cape Town.
2.2 The Festival runs in two sessions: Session 1 from 10:00 to 13:00, and Session 2 from 14:00 to 17:00. No tastings take place during the break between sessions.
2.3 Entry to the Festival is free. A ticket is required only for the walk-around wine tasting.
2.4 Woodstock Exchange continues to trade as normal during the Festival. Access to the building's shops is open to the public and is not affected by these Terms.
 
3. Age restrictions
 
3.1 Entry to the Festival itself is not age restricted. Persons under 18 may not attend the festival.
3.2 No person under the age of 18 may purchase a tasting ticket, take part in a tasting or masterclass, purchase wine, or consume alcohol at the Festival. It is illegal in South Africa to sell or supply alcohol to anyone under 18.
3.3 By purchasing a tasting ticket you confirm that you are 18 years or older. We may request proof of age at the entrance, at any stall, at the wine shop, and at any point during the Festival, and may refuse service or entry to the tasting where proof of age is not provided.
 
4. Tickets
 
4.1 Festival tickets are sold exclusively through the SnapScan mobile application. Tickets are held in the app and there is no email confirmation or printed ticket. SnapScan's own terms apply to the payment and to your use of their application.
4.2 A valid ticket in the SnapScan app must be presented at the entrance. On entry you will receive a wristband, which must be worn and visible for the duration of your session. Tastings are served only to guests wearing a valid wristband.
4.3 Tickets are sold per session. A session ticket admits you to the tasting for that session only. A full day ticket admits you to both sessions.
4.4 Ticket prices, inclusions, and session times are as described in the SnapScan app at the time of purchase.
4.5 Refunds and transfers. Tickets are non-refundable if you cancel or do not attend. Tickets are transferable to another person aged 18 or older. To transfer a ticket, email us the name of the new ticket holder before the Festival so that we can update the entry list.
4.6 If we cancel. If we cancel the Festival, you will be offered a full refund of the ticket price.
4.7 If we postpone. If we postpone the Festival to another date, your ticket will be valid for the new date. If you cannot attend the new date, you may request a refund of the ticket price within [14] days of the new date being announced.
4.8 Weather. The Festival takes place in both covered and open-air areas and proceeds in ordinary weather. We will only cancel or postpone where conditions make the event unsafe or impractical.
4.9 We are not liable for any travel, accommodation, or other costs you incur in connection with a cancelled or postponed Festival, beyond a refund of the ticket price.
 
5. Your tasting glass
 
5.1 Your ticket includes the use of a Festival tasting glass for the duration of your session. The glass remains our property and must be returned when you leave.
5.2 Please take reasonable care of your glass. We do not charge for accidental breakage, but would charge a fee of R100 for a new replacement glass to use for tasting.
5.3 A take-home Riedel glass is available to purchase at the Festival. Glasses purchased are yours to keep and are not returnable, except as provided in the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
 
6. Conditions of entry
 
These conditions apply to everyone attending the Festival, whether or not they hold a ticket.
6.1 Entry is at our discretion and we operate a right of admission reserved.
6.2 We may refuse entry to, or remove from the Festival, any person who is visibly intoxicated, is unable to provide proof of age where required, behaves abusively toward staff, producers, or other guests, or behaves in a manner that compromises the safety or enjoyment of others. No refund will be given where a ticket holder is removed in these circumstances.
6.3 You may not bring your own alcohol onto the Festival site.
6.4 You may not resell wine or any other goods purchased at the Festival.
6.5 We may search bags at the entrance as a condition of entry.
6.6 The Festival operates under a liquor licence and under permits issued by the City of Cape Town. You agree to comply with any reasonable instruction from our staff, security, or the venue given in connection with those conditions.
 
7. Wine purchases
 
7.1 Wine is not sold at producer stalls. All wine purchases are made through the Cape Town Wine Club shop at the venue, which is the licensed premises for the sale of wine for consumption off site.
7.2 You will receive a booklet on arrival listing the wines and producers, with details of how to order.
7.3 Prices are quoted in South African Rand and include VAT unless stated otherwise.
7.4 Availability of any wine is subject to stock on the day. Producers pour limited quantities and we cannot guarantee that every wine will be available for purchase throughout the Festival.
7.5 CTWC members receive member pricing on wine purchased at the Festival.
7.6 Returns. In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, you may return wine that is defective or corked within a reasonable period and we will replace it or refund you. We cannot accept returns of wine simply because you did not enjoy it.
 
8. Masterclasses
 
8.1 Masterclasses are ticketed separately from the walk-around tasting and have limited seats.
8.2 Masterclass tickets are non-refundable but are transferable to another person aged 18 or older on the same basis as section 4.5.
8.3 Please arrive on time. Latecomers may not be admitted once a masterclass has begun, and no refund will be given.
8.4 Where a masterclass is presented in partnership with a third party, that partner's involvement does not make them a party to these Terms.
 
9. Payments
 
9.1 Ticket payments are processed by SnapScan. Wine and merchandise purchases at the Festival are processed by [SnapScan and/or Yoco]. We do not store your card details.
9.2 Food vendors at the Festival operate their own payment points and their own terms. We are not a party to any purchase you make from a food vendor.
9.3 A ticket or order is only confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.
 
10. Photography and filming
 
10.1 Photography and filming take place at the Festival for promotional and editorial use by CTWC and our partners.
10.2 By entering the Festival, you consent to being photographed or filmed, and to those images and recordings being used by CTWC in marketing, on our websites, in print, and on social media, without payment.
10.3 If you would prefer not to appear in Festival photography, please speak to a member of our team at the entrance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
10.4 You are welcome to take your own photographs and video for personal use. Commercial or press photography requires our written permission in advance.
 
11. Responsible drinking and your safety
 
11.1 Wine tastings involve the consumption of alcohol. You attend at your own discretion and are responsible for your own decisions about how much you drink.
11.2 You are responsible for your own transport arrangements. Please do not drink and drive.
11.3 You are responsible for your personal belongings. We are not liable for loss of or damage to personal property at the Festival, except where caused by our gross negligence.
11.4 Public liability insurance is in place for the Festival.
 
12. Liability
 
12.1 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement, and nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
12.2 Subject to 12.1, CTWC will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your attendance at the Festival or your purchase of tickets or products.
12.3 You are responsible for your own decisions regarding alcohol consumption, including your fitness to drive or operate machinery.
 
13. General
 
13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
13.2 If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
13.3 We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version is published on this page with the "last updated" date shown at the top.
13.4 Where these Terms conflict with the general Cape Town Wine Club Terms & Conditions in relation to the Festival, these Terms apply.
