In this masterclass, discover how the shape and structure of a glass change the aroma, taste and overall experience of a wine.
​
Guided by experts from Riedel, this interactive session explores the science behind wine glass design. You'll taste a curated selection of wines from Von Family Wines and Thor Vintners & Co. from differently shaped glasses, and experience firsthand how the right glass lifts specific aromas, balances acidity and changes the flavour of the exact same wine.​​

The masterclass takes place between the two tasting sessions, from 13:00 to 14:00, at Novaccino Café, Woodstock Exchange.

Light reds are some of the most exciting wines coming out of South Africa right now, and this masterclass lines up three of them side by side. Sit down with the winemakers for a focused tasting across three flights:

Each flight is three wines from one producer, so you get to see how one winemaker shows a single grape in three different ways. Every variety is paired with its own dish by chef Sjaan van der Ploeg, created to bring out the flavours in the wine.​

The masterclass runs from 17:00 to 18:30 at Novaccino Café, Woodstock Exchange, after the afternoon tasting session.
